What is verb?

A verb is a word used for saying something about some person or thing.

Example:

I. The monkey jumps

II. The sun shines.

III. The dog barks.

IV. She sings well.

A verb expresses an action.

I. I am a boy

II. You are a girl

III. She is glad

IV. The boys are happy

V. He is brave.

A verb is a word which shows ’being’

A verb is a word which shows having.

Examples:- jump, shines, am, is, are, has, have these are principal verbs.

A finite verb must be in a same number and person as its subject.

Examples:- I read You read

He reads They read

The dog barks The dogs bark.
