How BSNL(Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) can be saved….?
BSNL is 100% owned by Govt. of India. Government decision
plays a vital role for the improvement of BSNL. Some initiations to save BSNL
can also be taken up by the employees. At present, number of employees of BSNL
is 1.75 Lakh(approx). There are some steps furnished below, can be taken by the
staffs side and management side to save BSNL. This article tells the suggestions
only. Do not act based on anything you might read in this article. It is purely
for information purposes only. This article is not intended for hurting any
feelings of the employees and members of management in BSNL.
Step 1: Employee can contribute hundred rupees per month
from their salary so that operating expenditure can be minimized by 1.75 cores
per month.
Step 2: Retired Employee can also contribute ten rupees per
month from their pension as BSNL has served his/her for approx thirty years.
Step 3: Shut down electricity including fan/air condition
in all offices for one day in a week excluding essential services.
Step 4: Stop running vehicle for one month per year.
Step 5: The non revenue office should be closed on Saturday.
Step 6: Expenditure in the five star/three star hotels
should be closed.
Step 7: Indoor/outdoor medical facilities should be replaced
by Medi-claim policy.
Step 8: staff amenities (uniform, glass, etc.) temporally
should be closed.
Step 9: Non profitable rented Low capacity exchange should
be replaced by mother exchanges through optical fiber.
Step 10: Community centre of each housing complex, Telecom
Training Centre campus may be used for rented purpose like marriage, birthday
or any other occasions.
Step 11: Broadband connection services in schools, hospitals,
offices, and multi-storied buildings can be provided with ring connectivity.
Step 12: BTS coverage should be checked at important places
and improve the same one.
Step 13: Reduced paper used in offices. Stop taking salary
slip print out and etc.
Step 14: Allotting of Group C & D staff in proper place. Scarcity
area should be given importance. Transfer policy of Group C & D can be
adopted.
Step 15: Family of BSNL staffs should used BSNL SIM, at
least 2 SIM per family.
Step 16: News paper expenditure of all Executives should be stopped
till becoming profit.
Step 17: Monitoring of inventory has to be done closely. Selling
and right off old unusable inventory and assets.
Step 18: Involvement of multiple bidders are required for
all kinds of NITS.
Step 19: Lease out unused production place.
Step 20: Provide existing customer an incentive to offer
others to its business.
Step 21: Shift your focus to the digital marketing; social
media campaign as tradition marketing is like TV and radio is most costly.
Step 22: Employee activity and productivity should be
monitored.
Step 23: Negotiation for every expenses is required.
Step 24: Firing people who do not perform their duty is essential.
Step 25: Offering of incentives to staff who help to cut
down expenses.
Step 26: Solar energy should be used.
Step 27: Water uses /expenses should be reduced.
Step 28: Required hi-tech
alternatives to legacy system.
Step 29: Don’t abuse your company; encourage with word of
mouth marketing.
Step 30: Outsourcing of cable maintenance may be given with
per hour penalty for non-maintaining the routes in time.
Step 31: Transfer policy of Staffs should be imposed within
three hundred KM.
Step 32: Sharing of
tower, fibres and buildings to other operators.
Step 33: To reduce travelling cost use video conference.
Step 34: Stop purchasing of unwanted telecom materials and purchasing
of the quality of equipment is required.
Step 35: Communicate with customer in right time with
personalized manner or via channel with comfort ability of customer.
Step 36: Circles,
Telecom Districts and Telecom Regions should come in a single window. “This is
not my job”, “I am not responsible”. These types of sentences have to be
strictly avoided.
Step 37: OFC laying work and procurement of materials may be
stopped for one year. Existing OF cable may be used. Rented OFC should be used.
Step 38: BSNL should launch 5G instead of 4G.
Step 39: All BTS and exchanges power should be SOLAR system.
Step 40: Equipment room should be cleaned and dust free.
Step 41: Employee should change their mindset.
Step 42: Every employee should sale minimum 2 SIM in a month
or convince people to take broadband.
Step 43: Monitoring of fund expenditure should be
transparency.
Step 44: Land line
telephone maintenance by Telecom Technician/JTO/SDE should be monitored seriously.
Step 45: ROW charges for laying and pulling OFC may be
reduced consulting with higher grade PWD officer/State Ministry by BSNL high
level officers.
Step 46: Use of armored cable OFC cable is required for better
maintenance.
Step 47: More good quality Franchiser with incentives may be
involved.
Step 48: Call centre person should have good idea regarding
services in BSNL.
Step 49: All types of complains/feedback should be received by
all types of Customers (Premium or Non-premium) and resolve the issue on the priority
basis.
Step 50:All staffs should know the procedures of ERP/ESS
implementation.
Can BSNL be saved by following the
above suggestions without implementing VRS/CRS and reducing retirement age of
the employee?
